Under Siege, the first portuguese PS3 game

Developer: Seed Studios founded in 2006 with 20 employees.
Local of development: Porto, Portugal

Under Siege is an RTT (real time tactics) singleplayer, multiplayer, co-op and online co-op game, launched in 2011 for the playstation 3 via PSN with an investment of 1.4 million euros and three years of production.

It was released in more than 50 countries in Portuguese, English, German, Italian and Spanish.
It had a promising release that caused the number of countries where it was available to increase and reach to "more than 50 countries", winning customers with its magnificent graphics, the compatibility with the playstation move remote, its multiplayer option, the editor option that allowed the players to easily create their own levels , but above all with it´s low price (10.99 euros.)

The game was  in the top 10 best-selling games on PSN but could not resist the harsh criticism about the game difficulty.

Nevertheless the game before disappearing gain attention worldwide being evaluated by a large number of critics and getting some awards along the way.

Under Siege was the first and only game Portuguese to reach the Playstation 3(They even made a comic!)
It had some good reviews which highlighted the design and innovative art Under Siege but what matters is the gameplay itself and the casual player ranked it as "too difficult" and showed no patience or sympathy for the game.

It was a flop? Not exactly. It had a very promising launch but failed to captivate the player to continue playing. Still it managed to do great things that have never before a Portuguese game had done.  So: Congratulations Seed Studios!

Metascore: 69 to 100 (based on 17 reviews)
Platforms: PS3
Current price 4.99 euros
